#TBT

Another week is almost gone and it's hard to believe that October only has about a week and half left until it's November! Today, since it's Thursday, I've decided to just pull together the most #TBT (Throwback Thursday) pictures I could find that could sum up my life through a photo-montage.

#SiblingLove. Love you, Seanie!

Limited Too silky & velvet pajamas.
Also when the Spice Girl's peace-sign pose starts becoming popular.

#HealthyHabits

Cookie-dough made from chickpeas.
Being healthy is something that's easier said than done. It's no secret that everybody has their weaknesses and that these food-weaknesses don't normally come in a healthy package (no pun intended!) For instance, when I've had a rough day or all I want to do is crash on the couch and hang out with friends watching a good movie, I always associate cookie-dough with the occasion  Cookie-dough is clearly not a healthy choice, but every once in a while it's okay to indulge! I've done some research for my #unhealthycraving and realized that there are other ways to make your ideal snack/dessert/craving a little bit better for you. For this example, you can make cookie-dough healthier by using chickpeas (normally used to make hummus!) Surprisingly enough they are a great substitute and it is just as satisfying just without so many carbs & cals.

Check out some other amazing healthy dessert dishes you can turn to when you don't want to undo all of the good choices you've made and enjoy great food without feeling guilty about it later! Click the link below to see the recipes & the ingredients you will need!

#TurquoiseTune-Up

Now that fall weather is officially here, it's hard to give up some of the fun colors of summer.
I know that for me, giving up the bright turquoise accessories and tops will definitely be a challenge. Luckily, I was able to find some good ways to keep the beautiful blue in my outfits, accessories and even on my nails! Check out below if you are a lover of turquoise and can't say goodbye just yet!

#QuestionableQueries

Happy Thursday, everyone! Since it is getting toward the end of the week, I just need to vent about what I've been seeing all week that just makes me wonder... so here we go!

1. Runway Fashion. How are these outfits even remotely "fashionable?" Whenever I try getting into runway fashion I just end up getting frustrated because it never makes sense to me. They pay these designers a ton of money, and for what? To make these shrub-look-alike outfits? It just always makes me wonder.

2. The Ostrich Pillow. This "pillow" was just introduced this week and it looks hilariously bizarre! If you would feel 100% comfortable wearing this contraption in the middle of an airport or anywhere in public, for that matter, then more power to you. I could never muster up enough confidence to be able to just sit around in public with this thing on my head!!

3. People who wear wool. Frankly, this fabric is just too itchy for me to tolerate. I definitely prefer a cool silk, or a comfy cotton fabric than any wool outfit. If you know me well, you'll know that I have never sported anything wool. Sometimes I wish that I didn't have such a low-tolerance for it because there are some cute wintertime peacoats and short skirts made out of wool that look chic & profesh! ...Just to clarify, the wool dress below is not one of the wool outfits I wish I could wear....

4. People not washing their hands in bathrooms. This is definitely the "germaphobe" in me coming out when I say this, but I cannot believe how many times I'm in a public restroom (typically unsanitary spots!) and I get to the sink to wash my hands and I see other ladies just fixing their makeup or hair and do not even think twice about washing their hands! That is so gross! Not to mention if you don't wash your hands at work just think about the keyboard that you are typing on all day or phone you're constantly on... for five days a week... for nine hours each day! Are you serious?! Think twice the next time you think to leave the restroom without putting those hands under the faucet!

#NAIL-It!

As I've mentioned in previous blog posts, Fall-fashion has kicked off and we are now amongst the great season of boots, leggings and oversized sweaters! But, we can't forget about another essential part to our great new-season-look. What could I possibly be talking about? Our nails, of course!
A girl with good upkeep to her nails will tell you a lot more about her than you'd think. Obviously self-grooming is always a good characteristic to look for when you're starting to get to know someone, however if you're noticing that someone's nails are not up-to-par, you may be correct in assuming that their overall hygiene-routine may be of a similar standard (or lack there of!

The secret to great, strong nails is to keep them short and well-maintained. This doesn't mean you need to splurge every other weekend at the nail salon on constant manicures, it just means you need to pay attention to them! If you're experimenting with some of the fun & different nail-polish colors that scream FALL you should remember to keep your nails short! (This applies for neon colors as well.) I am so obsessed with this Mocha Ombre Fall mani shown below! Once I have a free moment this weekend I am definitely going to give it a go! It's also great because it's full of neutral colors that most likely won't end up clashing with any of your fall outfits.

For polish colors that are darker such as the navy or brown polishes you should be ready to wear lighter toned clothing to even it out and also to keep those nails short!

However, if you like having a little bit of length to your nails like me you could easily choose a darker shade of pink for your Fall polish! I am a huge lover of Fiji by Essie, however the color seems to be too light for the season. After I try out the Mocha Ombre mani, I am definitely going back to my old roots and will try out this darker shade!

Stay saucy & nail Fall-fashion in every aspect this year!

#GANGNAMSTYLE

If you haven't seen the latest YouTube sensation by PSY then be sure to check this one out. It has also maintained it's spot within the top 3 songs on ITunes since it's debut and will get stuck in your head!
This video has gone viral almost overnight and has been viewed over 270 million times. It is quite...interesting to say the least! Long story short: don't spend your time perfecting your "wobble," its time to learn this new dance!
Stay saucy & enjoy 'Gangnam Style!'

#Fakin'Bacon

While this week has brought many problems (horrible #NFL refs, it only being Tuesday and the fact that we'll have to wake up a little bit earlier to defrost the car windshield now) this is definitely the biggest of problems.

Apparently because of harsh drought conditions this year that killed many corn & soybean crops there will be a world shortage of pork (bacon) next year...this is not okay!

Typically food shortages don't bother me since I'm a picky-eater and most likely wouldn't eat said food anyways, however loosing a year of crispy-bacon-goodness... it just won't work! I am what some may call a "flexitarian" (I stick to a diet that is not vegetarian, but includes less meat than the typical diet) and I tend to love bacon whenever I get the chance to eat it!
A whole year without this? What else will 2013 bring?!
As I mentioned, I'm a picky-eater so bacon is one of the few pieces of meat that I will actually eat. I think it's all about the texture... I'll eat bacon but I won't eat a pulled-pork sandwich. I know, I know... it's weird, but I am more about the crunchy texture as opposed to anything chewy when it comes to eating meats so a good helping of crispy bacon is always fine by me!

What will we do when there won't be enough to fill up a plate of it during Sunday brunch?! It's just an awful thing to think about. I imagine many companies will start coming out with their own fake bacon products (what I like to classify as #fakin'bacon.)

All I know is the next time I go grocery shopping I will be coming home with some more packs of bacon than usual just in case!

Stay saucy & start stocking up now!

#FashionableFall

This weekend marked the official start to Fall 2012 & that means that there will be a great change to outfits everywhere! Get inspired for the newest #fashion-do's below, but don't forget to change out your summer-to-fall outfits gradually. While it's clearly an exaggeration, I like to say "Don't go from sundresses to snow-pants overnight," and that is the mindset you must have when handling outfits between seasons.

Stay saucy & FALL into fashion!
