#thankfulforthanksgiving

THANKSGIVING: November 24, 2011

Okay betches. Everyone has their own personal favorite dish for the holiday. Mine is most definitely the #stuffing! I don't know why I am so obsessed with a dish that is made up of mostly bread, celery bits, and sausage but I love it!

We all know the traditional courses that make up the fantastic feast that we all await when November 1 hits the calendar. Betches  and decks all around the states love indulging into the finest turkey, eating #Pillsbury biscuits, cranberry sauces, and all of the #standardworks. But it's time to get with 2011 and update that menu. After all, it's for your family!!!
Traditional dessert courses like #pumpkinpie is always a good choice, but this year if you feel the need to stray off the expected dessert trays, I would urge taking a few minutes to read over this recipe. This is a Hoosier Sugar Cream Pie. I know what you're thinking. Low-cal? I think not! But not to worry because as we all know, calories don't count during the holidays anyway.

Other unique ideas are turkey treats & pilgrim hat cookies. For the turkey just get a pack of #NutterButters and some icing. Use an oreo and stick it on the back of the #NButter so it serves as the turkey's back! Then add icing to to make the feathers pop to the eater's eyes with candycorn pieces! Any candy can serve the turkey justice for it's eyes, beak, and feet. As for the saucy pilgrim hat idea just flip a #Reesescup upside down and plop it on a chocolate wafer. Then use a light brown colored icing to decorate the hat with a buckle and to maintain the cup from sticking to the cookie. I promise you're guests won't complain!!
When trying to make the table come together take a look at different ways to set it with different center pieces. This is a zesty pumpkin candle holder that will be #betchapproved with the colors of the holiday! It is very #autumnesque and brings any table together!

Stay saucy & happy thanksgiving betches!!
